About Teks Shooting club

TEKS Shooting Club range is situated in Trichardt on the Bethal road (N17) approximately 1.5 km outside Trichardt. We have a membership of approximately 134 members from the surrounding areas which include Bethal, Evander, Kinross, Secunda and Trichardt.

TSC is affiliated with the Mpumalanga Practical Shooting Association (MPSA), which is in turn affiliated with the South African Practical Shooting Association (SAPSA) and the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC).

Club shoots (IPSC) are held monthly, usually on the first Saturday and Sunday of each month. All interested members meet at around 08:30 for registration, stage building, and safety induction training for new members who have not completed it yet. The club shoot usually starts at around 09:00 and continues until approximately 16:00. There is normally a bring-and-braai after the shoot so that members can get to know one another.

The club provides members with the opportunity to affiliate with MPSA and SAPSA, allowing them to participate in league shoots and competitions at a national level. After affiliating, a new member must first be qualified by a committee member before taking part in a league shoot. New members can contact the chairman to arrange their qualification.

The club also offers members the opportunity to take part in silhouette shooting, steel challenge events, and clay pigeon shooting throughout the year.

As a result of the club’s competitiveness, five members have earned their national colors:

  • Paul Loock – Production Team – World Shoot XVI, 2011, Greece.
  • Hendrik Engelbrecht – Production Senior Team – World Shoot XVIII, 2017, France.
  • Jean and Hendrik Engelbrecht – Production Optics Senior Team – World Shoot XIX, 2022, Thailand, achieving third place.
  • Hendrik Engelbrecht – Production Optics Super Senior Team – World Shoot XX, 2025, South Africa, achieving second place.
  • Abrie Preller and Justin Jeacock – Standard Team – World Shoot XX, 2025, South Africa, achieving fourth place.
